Most days you can find me working on the couch in my yoga pants, tea in hand, with my dog, Charlie, in my lap. I’m a wellness coach, a nutritionist, a yoga teacher, a lover of home decor, and a major travel addict. I work with women who are looking to take their life to the next level by upgrading their nutrition, wellness, and mindset.
I really believe that wellness is so much more than just the food we eat and how many times we exercise each week. It encompasses all things including our environment, thoughts, and our daily habits. When I’m not busy working, you can find me hanging out at home with my fiancé and our puppy, scrolling through Pinterest, and reading travel guides for places that we have no immediate plans to visit.
Health and wellness was never a top priority for me. I used the gym as social hour and didn't put much thought into what I was eating. Back in 2011, I made a New Year's resolution to find a form of exercise that I enjoyed and to actually do it consistently. This led to me going to my first hot yoga class with my mom and immediately I was hooked. I'm pretty sure that I talked about opening my own yoga studio the whole way home. I was far from flexible and I definitely couldn't do any of the fancy poses but I loved it and the way it made me feel.
Along with my new love of yoga came a passion for healthy eating. I found myself spending my spare time researching health and wellness articles. I would talk to whoever would listen about what I was learning and would give endless amounts of advice (that wasn't always asked for). I would dream about opening my own wellness centre and spent time planning out everything that I would offer.
In 2016, I made another New Year's resolution. I decided to go back to school for holistic nutrition and complete my yoga teacher training. I wanted to help show people the power of food in healing and how important your mindset is on your health. I wanted to teach and empower and help women become the healthiest and happiest versions of themselves.
I am now a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Yoga Teacher with a passion for helping women take control over their life and health. I believe that nutrition doesn't have to be complicated. You don't have to follow any crazy diets or plans. I believe in the importance of eating good quality food and that it's okay to have that cookie every once in a while.
Nutrition doesn't have to be complicated. In fact, the simpler the better!
Mental health is just as important as physical health. They go hand in hand and we need to address both in order make a lasting change.
You can create a healthy life you love. It's possible for everyone. Trust me!
Your mindset is one of the most important parts to your success. That 'mind over matter' thing isn't just a saying, it's the truth.
Self-care comes in all shapes and sizes. What works for your friend or neighbour's sister may not work for you... and that's okay!
Everybody is different. There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to health and wellness.
